Ozhomenews had the chance to visit an incredible architectural gem at 116 King Arthur Terrace in Tennyson – and this home is definitely worth seeing!
Starting from the top floor, the amazing rooftop area with an infinity pool boasts stunning, panoramic views over Brisbane’s city skyline.
Lower level balconies on each side of the house provide even more space to entertain and they also make sure you can catch every ray of sunlight throughout the day!
From the moment you step inside this extraordinary house, the beautiful design takes your breath away. The architect of the house is actually the owner, so you better believe that he has only added the best-of-the-best features to his dream home!
“I think this is a great example of what happens when an architect gets to have free rein on a design, and is not hindered by clients and other people’s visions,” said Heath Williams of Place New Farm.
Being situated on a triangle-shaped block, the property has required exquisite planning to make the most of a challenging site.
“What the architect has done, is that he has created this vertical house – flipping it on its head and having the pool up the top,” explained Mr Williams.
And this design really works! All the indoor and outdoor spaces connect effortlessly with each other and even the master bedroom can be opened up with bi-fold doors, to enjoy the views and get that spacious and luxurious loft-style feeling.
The minimalist design highlights the beautiful natural materials used, such as stone and concrete with warm timber accents.
“This house is a story about what is not in here, on top of what is actually here,” said Mr Williams.
“There’s no skirting boards, there’s no architraves – it’s that brutalist, modernist architecture, that has been really warmed up by all this timber and stone,” he explained.
