 Tones & I buys $7.08M Melbourne mansion

One of the most exclusive properties in the seaside Melbourne suburb of Mt Eliza has just sold to pop icon Tones and I.

The Melbourne-born singer, known to friends and family as Toni Watson, spent an impressive $7.08 million to secure the property, just three years after living out of her van in Byron.

Set on 2,500sqm, the multi-level property at Canadian Bay Road, Mt Eliza, has more in common with a luxury hotel than a beach home. Marble kitchens, underground lounges, billiards rooms and resort-style living all contribute to an air of luxury the new celebrity is sure to enjoy.

The central space is an open-plan area containing an international kitchen and sprawling lounge area with panoramic views stretching across the ocean to the city skyline. It’s swimming in marble, but the highlight is the award-winning $150,000 oven – and that’s just the start of the home’s exceptional fit-out!

The true entertainment space can be found in the basement, where colour-changing lights illuminate a room that wouldn’t be out of place in the most exclusive club. Past the luxe lounge, glass doors open onto a 3000-bottle wine cellar, complete with an antique French table. and a daybed that’s separated from the bottom of the pool by a single pane of glass.

Other rooms include a billiards room with its own New York-style bar, an office with a scotch bar, a fully equipped home theatre, gym, sauna, tennis court, and five bedrooms on the second floor.

Outside is just as jaw-dropping. The home wraps around a central courtyard, the centrepiece of which is a state-of-the-art pool with its own fountains and marble paving! Off to the side is an international-standard tennis court, and the sunken fire pit is perfect for toasting marshmallows.

It looks like the start of a property empire for the singing prodigy – last year Tones and I purchased her first home in Mt Eliza for $5.1 million, and secured another home near Frankston for the much smaller sum of $800,000.

She also dropped a significant sum in her former busking home of Byron Bay, purchasing a home on the town’s outskirts for $3.3 million.
