After four years in the making, Crown Sydney has topped out, reaching a dizzying 275 metres.
The city’s new skyscraper resort and residences at One Barangaroo maxed out ahead of schedule.
The new 349-room hotel is set to open in December this year as well as a number of bars, restaurants and retail stores, with homeowners at Crown Residences on schedule to move into the building in 2021.
To complete the interior of the Crown Sydney, 1,300 people will continue to work until the end of the year.
The resort and casino tower draws inspiration from London and Manhattan architecture with firms Wilkinson Eyre from the UK, and Meyer Davis from the States, combining to design the tower.
Twelve sales of $20 million or above were recorded by February including the Crown Resorts largest shareholder James Packer.
It is thought almost four million hours’ worth of work took place during construction of the tower, including 237,000 tonnes of concrete poured, 20,000 tonnes of steel used, and 10,000 glass panels installed.
Upon completion, more than 50,000 plants and 300 trees will be planted to bring this staggering building to life.
