An incredible property in Sydney’s Inner West has set a new suburb record after going under the hammer for a whopping $5.9 million.
After being listed with a circa $5 million price guide, the action got underway with five active bidders pushing the sale price through the roof.
Listing agent Simon Furnari of Belle Property says that the quality and size of the home is what drove such intense demand.
“It has definitely put the Inner West into a bit of a spin!” Simon says.
“We knew that we were going to get a good outcome because of the positive feedback during the campaign, but the final result was something that brought everyone to tears.”
“Hitting a suburb record by nearly a million dollars is unheard of, but at the same time we did have a special product and I was confident it was going to do well.”
The property, located at 32 Tripod Street, features a stunning pool and al fresco area as well as eight car accommodation.
“A regular block of land in surrounding suburbs is anywhere between 550-650 sqm so this being 750 sqm and that large basement too was the next step for a lot of families who were interested,” Simon explains.
The sale eclipses the previous Concord record of $4.95 million by some way after the highest bidder was determined to secure the flashy home – much to the delight of the vendors.
“The auction kicked off at $5,050,000 so there was a very strong bid to get things started by the eventual purchaser,” Simon says.
“Their plan was to knock everyone out the water but as it was a highly sought-after home, and that bid set the pace for what was to come.”
“The vendors were absolutely blown away. It was an owner builder property so there was a lot of pride taken in the home from the them.”
