A fabulous luxury home in a sought-after Strathfield address was snapped up for $5.3 million at auction on the weekend by a buyer who had been eyeing up the home for TEN years.
The five-bedroom property had caught the eye of the successful purchaser when it had just been finished, fast forward ten years and now she has got her hands on it herself.
Belle Property listing agent, Norman So, said that despite not actively looking for a new home, his buyer is delighted to have been the highest bidder at Saturday’s auction.
“The purchaser had seen the house ten years ago when it had just finished being built, but it wasn’t for sale then because it was my vendor’s dream family home,” he said.
Then, about three weeks ago, she saw the property on the internet and recognised the address and remembered seeing the property ten years ago.Norman So – Belle Property Strathfield
“That led to her coming to an inspection, and two weeks later she seized the opportunity and bought the home at auction.”
There were five registered bidders on the day, three of which were active bidders who battled it out to buy the property.
“Buyers loved it because there are six living areas, so it is a true entertainer’s home,” said Mr So.
“It’s on a blue-ribbon street in Strathfield, very close to elite schooling and Strathfield’s CBD.”
“For car lovers, it has a basement fit for five cars, and for the IT nerds the whole house has been wired up with smart home integration,” explained Mr So.
