Putney Home Sold for $4.105m at Hotly Contested Auction

An exquisite five-bedroom home in northern Sydney sold at auction for $4,105,000 over the weekend at a hotly contested auction.

After attracting interest from all over the city, the property, at 46 Pellisier Road, was sold to a buyer from the Upper North Shore, after the vendors opted to downsize to a penthouse apartment.

Listing agent, Joseph Mazar of Ray White, told OzHomeNews about the sought-after property and why it caused such a stir.

“The location of the home was exceptional and our campaign and the way we marketed the property enabled us to achieve a very good result,” he said.

“We had sold it to the vendors 13 years ago when it was new, and it has stayed in very good condition,” said Mr Mazar.

And it is smiles all round, after the successful auction left the vendors “overwhelmed” with the final sale price and now looking forward to moving to their new home.

“The auction campaign saw about 80 groups come through the home and on the day, there were eight registered bidders with five actively bidding and more than 100 people in attendance,” said Mr Mazar.

“We had very strong interest from local buyers as well as from buyers from the Lower North Shore and the Eastern Suburbs,” he said.

“So, it was well received from purchasers from most parts of Sydney, but in the end, it did eventually go to a buyer from Pymble.”

Mr Mazar said that the Putney market is holding strong as its proximity to the city is favourable amongst prospective buyers.

“Our market in Putney seems to be very resilient,” he said.

“We are finding that Putney is attracting a lot of young families and highly paid professionals that find it easier to get to most parts of Sydney from here whilst getting that waterside lifestyle,” said Mr Mazar.
