A miner looking to settle on the Coast has struck gold with the purchase of a Paul Clout-designed waterfront home in Sovereign Islands.

The sprawling mega-mansion at 1 Westminster Court, Sovereign Islands sold for $6.85 million in a cash deal, in what was the biggest Paradise Point sale of the year.

Split over three levels on a 1,141sqm block, this five-bedroom home enjoys the best that life has to offer.

Phillis Real Estate agent Jay Capel says the property is a work of art.

“The foyer walls are hand cut gemstones from South Africa, and they’ve been layered into glass and backlit in China and shipped over specifically for this house,” he says. “Everything is custom-designed.”

“All the pavers and wall stone are actually cut from the Indonesian sea bed and full of fossils, and that’s been utilised throughout the front and exterior of the property.”

The mansion gives a new meaning to the word luxury – marble floors flow throughout the site, and the marble staircase has custom lighting, so nighttime is never an issue!

Each wing has its own courtyard, with a deluxe rooftop entertaining area with fantastic water views and a spa, and downstairs, an infinity pool with custom LED lighting. The designer kitchen also lets out onto well-ventilated outdoor space, with tiled benchtops and a built-in barbecue. On your way through the kitchen keep an eye out for the waterfall stone benchtops, butler’s pantry, and a colour-matched French fridge door!

The master bedroom has fantastic water views from its private balcony, but the best viewing location – outside of a boat – is from the open-air en suite. Luckily, there’s room for even 75-foot yachts at the property’s 22-metre water frontage.

“We sold the property fully furnished,” Jay explains. “A lot of the furniture is custom because so many walls are curved and the pieces needed to fit – there’s probably only two straight walls in the place!”

“It attracted some of the biggest interest we’ve ever had in our agency regarding design, inspections, everything,” he says. “We had international interest as well as interstate, a lot of VIPs and buyers agents.”

Some of those furniture items include a grand piano, one-of-a-kind art, bookshelves and master lounge suites. There’s also a saltwater coral reef tank, a 260-bottle wine cellar, and a six-person lift.

Just a short walk to the Broadwater and beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants, the mega-mansion’s new owner is sure to revel in his new home – Jay certainly enjoyed selling it!

“It was one of the best feelings I’ve had, purely for the fact the owner is one of my friends,” he says. “So for him to put trust in me to be able to get the sale he did is fantastic.”
