A new luxury Melbourne penthouse inspired by elaborate Beverly Hills mansions has successfully been leased for $5,000 per week, equating to $260,000 per year.
Perched imperiously on the summit of Gurner’s impressive Albert Place Residences project, the 300sqm penthouse, designed by Tim Gurner himself, epitomises class and style.
“This residence really is the ultimate expression of luxury, we have spared no expense on the detailing and the materials to create a refined, elegant space that is unique in every way,” said Tim Gurner.
And for the record, Mr Gurner is not joking around when he says ‘no expenses spared’, with the home finished with over $400,000 worth of Arabascato marble slabs, $250,000 of international artworks and $300,000 worth of designer furniture.
The three-bedroom, three-bathroom sky-high sanctuary boasts incredible 270-degree views across Port Phillip Bay, Albert Park Lake and Melbourne’s impressive skyline.
“My favourite element of the penthouse would have to be the arrival experience. We created a spectacular larger-than-life entryway that acts as a commanding sense of arrival, with incredible book-matched marble slab flooring and walls,” said Mr Gurner.
“Your eyes are then immediately drawn to the floor-to-ceiling windows at the other end of the residence that offer incredible 270-degree views over the lake and bay. It really takes your breath away as soon as you walk inside,” he said.
The $140 million Albert Place Residence project was completed earlier this year, and initially it was planned to keep the penthouse as a showpiece venue for private clients.
“We really had no intention of leasing the penthouse but after an interested party was introduced to us, we quickly negotiated a deal,” explained Mr Gurner.
“The lease underpins the demand for luxury and underpins the resilience of the rental market even in these current times,” he said.
The classy penthouse also enables access to the building’s private club facilities including a games room complete with poker and pool tables, a private bar and lounge, a 2,500 private wine cellar and a Turkish bathhouse with full-length pool and spa.
