Plans for a wonderful new residential development on the Gold Coast have been approved, which will consist of 14 ‘vertical beach houses.’
Lifestyle developer Bottega Group have revealed the first design details for the 17-storey ‘123OBR’ project, which has been designed by world renowned architects Woods Bagot.
The 646 sqm site, at 123 Old Burleigh Road, hence the name, will include a grand two storey penthouse as well as a five-bedroom beach house spread over the first two floors of the building, complete with its own private pool.
Bottega Group Managing Director Nick Malloch said: “We wanted 123OBR to feature a vertical stack of beach houses that not only catered for the luxury end of the market, but also offered a design aesthetic that evoked a playful, nautical reference, given its proximity to the beach and the ocean.”
Hutchinson Builders are overseeing the construction of the development which Mr Malloch says will create jobs and boost the area.

The design of the slender tower is defined by beautiful raft-like balconies which mimic the sand and are shaped to provide privacy whilst still maintaining functionality.
Woods Bagot associate principal, David Lee, spoke about his excitement regarding 123OBR, and why he believes it will fit perfectly in Broadbeach.
“A home designed with careful consideration of the future resident, and its neighbourhood, and executed with expert craftsmanship, carries a sense of permanence,” he said.
“These homes are here for the long run – they will age gracefully in the everchanging coastal environment.”
