The townhouse at 22/7 Boyd Street in the Brisbane suburb of Bowen Hills doesn’t look all that imposing from the front, but it’s the history inside the walls that makes for an interesting story.

Since 2012 this three-level dwelling has been home to Australian singer and cultural icon, Lisa Origliasso.

The 36-year-old rose to fame alongside her twin sister Jessica as pop duo The Veronicas in the 2000s, and now more than a decade later she’s parting ways with a place she’s long called home.

It was the first property Lisa ever bought, and for many years the three-bedroom townhouse in the gated hilltop complex was all she wanted – somewhere she could live with her mum and twin sister.

Light floods in through the main living area, which has room for a lounge set up and a home office. In fact, if you open the balcony doors just past the study area, a beautiful breeze flows through, inviting you to unwind and enjoy the view.

The space is modest but still big enough to fit a family, perfect to celebrate your first milestones as a family – becoming musical successes, falling in love, and starting families of their own.

The kitchen is a little outdated but Lisa says she loved spending time there. She’d have musician friends over all the time, drinking home-brewed coffees and enjoying dinner parties out in the terraced courtyard.

During her spare time, Lisa would enjoy visiting the popular cafes and bars, just a short stroll down the road from the townhouse. After spending time with fellow creatives she’d often come home and head straight to the complex’s pool, or the tennis court for a game or two!

Each of the three bedrooms has access to balconies, which is hard to come by these days. Those balcony views are actually quite lovely – you can see parts of the city from the elevated vantage point.

Saying goodbye will be bittersweet, but come March 20 this townhouse will go under the hammer. Lisa has said she’ll be starting a new chapter with her husband of nearly two years, Logan Huffman, but there’s no doubting someone will come along at auction and love this home as much as she does.
