 Hamilton’s antique dream goes to auction

A federation Queenslander in the bluechip Brisbane suburb of Hamilton will open its doors for the first time in 43 years when it goes to auction in April.

The 2,049sqm estate was purchased by the late, renowned antique dealer Jill Phillips and her husband Lance in 1978, and the pair contributed substantial renovations to the property in their time.

Originally built in 1907, the multi-million dollar property retains many of its original period features, like the pitched terracotta-style roof, large bay windows, pressed metal ceilings and timber detailing.

Today, the two-storey dwelling known as ‘Blair Lodge’ is a little more modern, but it still commands incredible views of the Brisbane River and CBD.

Place Kangaroo Point agent Courtney Caulfield says it’s not just the size of the holding that’s impressive.
