A resort-style family home in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs exceeded expectations after is was sold at auction on Saturday fetching a price of $3,440,000.
“It was a very very popular home, it created a lot of interest,” said Shane Vincent of Belle Property – Randwick.
“It was quite a competitive auction. We had around 80 people there on the day,” he said.
Despite receiving offers before the auction day towards the upper end of the $3m-3.2m price guide, the vendors decided to go ahead with the auction, anticipating a better result with people bidding on the day – and their decision turned out to be the right one.
“From $3.2 million onwards there were two people left, and they pushed the price up for more than the expected result, from $3.2 million to $3.44 million,” explained Mr Vincent.
The hotly contested home, at 4 Byng Street, Maroubra, features four bedrooms and is ideal for relaxed family living with its open-plan living and dining area connecting seamlessly to the spacious outdoor lawn and pool area.
The home is a result of a stunning renovation made by the vendor, and the elegant contemporary design compliments beautifully its original features.
“It was an original Californian bungalow that had been renovated and extended,” explained Mr Vincent.
“It was a beautiful home.”
