A très belle French Provincial-style home in Hawthorn East has been purchased by a local Chinese family in a private deal believed to be worth about $5.2 million.
Situated in an exclusive pocket of Melbourne’s inner eastern suburbs, the grand five-bedroom property is rich in style and luxury and caught the eyes of many buyers both locally and interstate.
Anton Zhouk helped negotiate the sale of the picturesque residence and said the home’s build quality and its location – “on one of the best streets in Hawthorn East” – kept him a busy man during the sales process.
“It’s a French Provincial-inspired home tha’s been really well put together,” he says.
“The quality of the build was a really big thing for buyers and how it had been dressed up. The vendor was a builder who’d built the property for himself.”
No expense has been spared in finishing the residence, with an incredible pool area just one of the crowing jewels to be found at 9 Tourello Avenue.
“One of the standout features is the cinema room downstairs and the really nice open-plan living and dining room at the back of the house with the really nice high ceilings,” Anton explains.
“Its location, too, having a north-facing rear garden that’s right in the centre of the Anderson Park precinct, which is a really well-regarded area of Hawthorn East. “
With the vendors opting to stay in the area and build something a little bit bigger, they were left thrilled with the final sale price, and the transaction bodes well for Melbourne’s prestige market in the first week of 2021.
“I have a feeling we’ll have a lot of properties come up in the first quarter of the year, and as long as we don’t get another wave of COVID, that could ease things up a little bit as there’ll be a lot more choice for buyers,” Anton says.
“If stock levels remain low, the market will probably be quite positive and stable – that’s the only thing that’s been holding prices quite well.”
