This multi-award-winning home is the largest land title in all of Newell Beach, set on a sprawling 2,432sqm along tropical absolute beachfront.
Nestled between the Great Barrier Reef and the exquisite Daintree Rainforest, the locale offers some of the most unbelievable sights of natural beauty in Australia.
Listing agent Caroline Yarr, of Sotherby’s International, says the $4.5 million property is the last of its kind left in the area.
“The home was built in 2007 and won the Master Builders Home of the Year award, among numerous others,” Caroline says.
“The owners originally bought the block of land equating for half of the current property and then bought the one next to it when it became available – they later combined the two blocks and built the retreat-style abode across both.”
In true resort style, the house layout is light and airy yet private, with an array of indoor and outdoor entertainment areas.
“The residence is made up of two separate houses, joined by a single long corridor, making it a great choice for caretaking or a family with teenage children – it also boasts a long floor plan, which is great for secluded living.”
The main house is two-storeys featuring three bedrooms and four bathrooms, and separate to this is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom guesthouse.
The current owners, who reside in Melbourne, used the property as their own home-away- from-home to escape their busy city life.
“These kinds of houses are gaining a lot of interest as people who regularly spend money on international travel haven’t been able to do so for a long time,” Caroline says.
“These people are now choosing to invest this extra money in a luxurious holiday home that’s more easily accessible.”
Caroline says she and her team didn’t know what to expect when COVID-19 hit, though it’s been a pleasant surprise in terms of the market.
“I was working in the area through the global financial crisis, which smashed Port Douglas and there were definitely worries it would happen again with COVID-19,” she says.
“Port Douglas as a market has seen very strong growth during the COVID-19 period, with $2m-3m properties selling over the phone.
“It was quite surely the opposite outcome than expected, and now Newell Beach is one of many regional areas that have boomed in population.”
