The beach pad of cricket star Pat Cummins has sold for $3.7 million before it could even reach auction.
The three-bedroom apartment at 16 Beach Street, Clovelly, had been scheduled for auction later this month but was snapped up by a local investor for $600,000 above its price guide after just two weeks on the market.
The world number one bowler had lived in the apartment with his fiance since 2013, but will now be moving to a home further north of his Clovelly pad.
PPD Real Estate agent David Tyrell says the home attracted plenty of local interest, and six extremely keen buyers.
“It’s nice and elevated there, and one of only four on the block,” David explains. “It has a huge, 120sqm terrace out front which creates combined indoor/outdoor living with ocean views all year round.”
“There were plenty of young people interested, but it eventually went to a local investor.
“It was a good sale to work on.”
Pat Cummins has put a considerable amount of work into the two-storey property, which he bought before he turned 20. The kitchens and bathrooms have all been fully renovated, with further upgrades throughout the home adding to the apartment’s impressive sale price.
The three bedrooms can be found on the lower level, with the master suite enjoying a marble mosaic tile finish in the en suite, and access to a private courtyard.
The upper level demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, from the entertainer’s pavilion and sundeck – complete with outdoor shower – to the custom-designed kitchen.
There’s plenty to love in the kitchen, with a breakfast island, integrated wine fridge, and double ovens, all surrounded by lashing of Caesarstone.
Pat and his fiance Becky will now move into Figtree House in Bronte, which he bought for $9.5 million last month – more than double the previous street record.
