Buyers swap van life for $3.8m luxury Byron farmhouse
A couple travelling around Australia in a van decided it was time to park up and settle down after purchasing this stunning Byron Bay farmhouse for $3.8 million.
The incredible five-bedroom property is nestled in the picturesque Byron hinterland and will seem rather roomy for its new owners at first, but with its stylish design and cosy layout, they’ll soon feel right at home.
McGrath’s Susan Whyte and Ian Daniels helped negotiate the sale of the immaculate residence and Susan believes it’s the perfect fit for the new owners.
“The buyers had been travelling around the country for the last couple of years and at first, when they pulled up, they thought it was way too big for them because they’d been living in a van. But we talked it through and now it’s their home!” Susan says.
“They’re going to do it justice and carry forward what the vendors started, which is just the ultimate win. They just want to live and nurture what has been put there.”
The home features a heated mineral pool, a vegetable garden and three-car accommodation – plenty of room to park up the van!
Located in the coveted Woodlands Estate, the property boasts 100 acres of nature trails and cycle paths, which particularly tickled the fancy of buyers from the larger southern cities.
“We had a lot of interstate interest, especially from Sydney and Melbourne, with people looking to relocate,” Susan reveals.
“The property’s location is the best of both worlds because it’s less than 10 minutes down to Byron and the beaches yet it still has that idyllic farmhouse feel that’s surrounded by nature.”
The $3.8 million sale left all parties happy, with the vendors opting to take on a similar project after purchasing another larger farm nearby.
