A marvellous architecturally designed home on the outskirts of Melbourne has been snapped up for $4,400,000 after drawing a lot of online attention.

Located at 36-38 South Valley Road, the four-bedroom delight was even purchased online by interstate buyers and has set a new price benchmark for the Park Orchards area.

Barry Plant listing agent, Theo Politis, said: “It’s probably the most inquiry I’ve ever had on a property – we had over 35,000 views online!”

“It’s an iconic home for the area and definitely one of the best properties in Park Orchards,” he said.

“The vendors are really happy with the result because they put a lot of time and effort into the property, it was kept in really good condition so they’re handing over an amazing property to the purchaser,” said Mr Politis.

The home features top-of-the-range appliances and grand proportions – highly desirable amongst buyers at the moment due to the current climate, even more so for Melburnians.

“A lot of buyers during this COVID period are looking to move out to the larger sized properties,” said Mr Politis.

“They don’t want to be stuck in the city anymore, they want a bit more space around them.”

“There are a lot of people who are assessing whether they really need to be living near the city as they won’t be going back to an office environment.”

“And if people are spending more time at home, they can justify owning a larger home,” he said.

Since restrictions were eased across Victoria, Mr Politis has been kept a busy man, and he predicts that won’t change any time soon.

“We’ve had properties that have had almost 100 private inspections in a week since restrictions were lifted,” he said.

“On the weekend, our office alone conducted 200 private inspections.”

“There is a backlog of buyers who couldn’t purchase over the last couple of months, so I don’t think we’re going to have that traditional break over Christmas, people can’t really go anywhere on holiday anyway,” said Mr Politis.
