An impressive family home with views across Sydney Harbour sold at auction over the weekend for $6,355,000 as nationwide buyer demand continues to outweigh supply.
Around 90 groups had viewed the property during its sales campaign, with buyers loving the iconic harbour backdrop which features some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Ray White Double Bay Managing Director, Elliot Placks, helped negotiate the sale of the four-bedroom property and says that all parties were delighted with the deal after the hammer came down on Saturday.
“This is a desirable, aspirational family home, and has a priceless view of Sydney Harbour. It is also very close to some of the city’s best schools, making for a very successful campaign,” Elliot says.
“Our vendors were downsizing after owning it for 34 years, and the buyers are a young family looking for their forever home, making it a lovely transitional story,” he says.
The family entertainer features a wonderful alfresco area complete with top of the range appliances as well as a heated pool and manicured lawns.
With seven registered bidders battling it out, competition for the Vaucluse home was high as Australian properties continue to be hotly contested at auctions across the country.
On the Gold Coast, John Parkes of Ray White Tugun says that he has never seen such competitive market conditions.
“The levels of demand right now are completely unprecedented,” he says.
“I have never seen such high numbers of buyers in 13 years in the industry. I’m averaging at least 50 groups for a first weekend,” John explains.
