Construction has kicked off at a boutique build-to-rent project in Brunswick which will offer high-end affordable housing in the heart of Melbourne.
‘Solarino House’ will feature 70 one, two and three-bedroom apartments as well as a communal rooftop garden and orchard with construction scheduled to be complete in early 2022.
Private developer, Pellicano, are behind the $46 million project which has been designed by Six Degrees Architects and will blend in with the hipster surroundings with food and beverage operators occupying the ground floor.
Pellicano Managing Director, Nando Pellicano, told of his excitement at their latest project.
“Each of Pellicano Living’s projects are customised and designed for the local area they occupy, so we’ll be bringing the creative flair that Melbourne’s northside is famous for to Solarino House but with the same consistent service offered across all of our projects,” he said.
The developers will retain ownership of Solarino House under its ‘Pellicano Living’ arm, pushing the total number of tenants under management over 1000.
“We’re really proud of the lifestyle we’ve created for our members at our completed projects like South City Square,” said Mr Pellicano.
Pellicano Living place emphasis on a hotel-style level of customer service, with a cloud-based app, Pellicano Connect, aimed at keeping members in the loop with the latest news and events.
“There’s a strong sense of community and often a huge uptake in events we run like rooftop yoga or arts and crafts days for families,” said Mr Pellicano.
The Melbourne based developers have a history of delivering build-to-rent projects, with a collection of 24 townhomes making up Clayton House, built back in the early 1970’s.
“Build-to-rent is a model we’re committed to as a business off the back of these projects. We want to keep pushing the envelope in terms of the level of service we offer our members,” Mr Pellicano said.
