Lato Baia, an impressive $38 million development project currently underway in Wynnum, brings not only 67 brand-new apartments to the area, but also a cinema for the first time since 1959.
The new development has received a warm welcome and it was also ranked 8th in the number of inquiries received for new developments in Queensland. And what’s more – four boutique cinemas on the lower floors are already making people reach for the popcorn!
“The feedback we’ve got has been really positive,” says Raine and Horne agent Justin Smith, who is selling the properties with agent Margaret Vote.
“It is something that is needed in the area and obviously with the new cinemas underneath, it’s just adding a different dimension to it as well,” he explains.
The seven-storey building will be the highest residential building in the suburb, containing a mix of architecturally designed one, two and three-bedroom apartments.
The cinemas will be located underneath the residential units, meaning even the first level of apartments will sit high above the ground, resulting in impressive views for every single apartment.
“We just started having on-site visits where people can come and start looking at the views, and the feedback has been excellent,” says Mr Smith.
Interested buyers have been mainly local homeowners and also people from further afield, looking to invest.
“There are definitely people from interstate that are waiting to be able to jump on a plane to come and have a look,” says Ms Vote. “But the majority of inquiries are from people that currently live in the area and want to stay in the area and just downsize.”
“I think we’re going to end up with a large proportion of owner-occupiers,” agrees Mr Smith.
