$2.125m suburb record after ‘hot’ listing goes wild in 23 hours

Less than 24 hours after being listed, and after a flurry of offers, this sprawling property at 3 Mobbs Place in Ormeau, Queensland – made up of two homes – sold for $2,125,000.

NGU Real Estate agent Nhan Tran, who describes the home as “hot!”, explains that within hours of the listing going live, his phone was running hot with enquiries.

“Within 23 hours we’d had more than 100 enquiries,” he explains, “and over the week it reached 340 enquiries.

“We had multiple inspections straight away, and immediately afterwards we had multiple offers being made,” he says, adding that the property became the most viewed across Australia for the week on listings site realestate.com.au.

“It was a hot home,” Nhan says. “It was previously on the market with another agent for $1.99m but didn’t sell, so the owners were happy they waited for the right price.”

The vendors were looking to move “more coastal than hinterland”, Nhan says, adding that the sale represents a suburb record for a single residential site not sold for development.

It certainly wouldn’t seem to need much work doing to it. The impressive main house boasts five bedrooms, three bathrooms, a media room and enough games space for both pool and roulette, plus of course that lovely large pool, so entertaining and relaxing is definitely catered for.
